Derek is our Chairman and supports the business through our growth. With a focus on good leadership and management, he is passionate about creating a positive culture that supports people and business development and growth.
Derek has had 30 years experience leading businesses across a number of sectors, most predominantly and successfully in the workplace and is hugely passionate about the value of office design. Derek has been sought out by others for his business expertise and has a number of other advisory and Non-Executive. Director positions for other businesses and organisations who operate at global, national and local levels, in a variety of sectors.
Derek is born and brought up in Edinburgh, married to Gill with 2 grown-up daughters, Megan & Sarah. He was an “enthusiastic” rugby player and of sport in general. He claims that because he has not been picked for a long time doesn’t mean he is retired!! But, he has turned his attentions to support charity undertaking work for Boroughmuir community sports and The Bill McLaren Foundation in particular.
